Maggie - October 2018

When my wife and I founded Watered Gardens, it didn’t take long before we realized our good intentions to help people were falling short of providing real opportunity to escape the grip of poverty. We embarked on a problem-solving journey that led us to form the True Charity Initiative with hopes of helping other missions and churches shift to more effective methods.

“The True Charity Initiative has been instrumental in helping us as a church find ways to love families who are in crisis situations. We desire to provide assistance while empowering people to be who God has created them to be. The True Charity Initiative has given us the skills to do this well and we are so grateful for the resources and expertise they share with us.

I would strongly encourage any church involved in benevolence work to get connected with this great organization and lean into the wisdom they can provide. There is too much on the line for the church to do anything but their absolute best to help families and individuals in a way that restores their dignity and solidifies their identity as children of God.”

A True Charity is 100% privately funded, outcome-driven, and development-oriented. This means no government money, measuring impact, and avoiding handouts. It’s what we teach others through the Initiative. It’s what we model for others at Watered Gardens. Thank you for your continued support. It not only provided real help for people at Watered Gardens, it also helped us to help others do the same.
