Project Worth

We are all created in God’s image. Not one of us has any less value than another, and yet, many of the poor we meet at Watered Gardens have been told for years they have less value or are of no worth. This devaluation occurs through lack of love, abuse, and judgment.

The Worth Shop offers the poor and homeless a chance to get creative and make products for sale. Clients work for a set amount of time (30 min, 1 hr, etc.) and receive food, clothing, shelter, or other essentials in return. They collaborate with volunteers, doing tasks like dismantling air conditioners or crafting items. The products they make are sold to help cover the cost of the services they use. This exchange restores their sense of worth by preserving dignity and reducing dependence on charity handouts.

The purchase of Worth Shop items in our community are reminding the “least of these” that they have something to offer, that they have the ability to earn and that they have worth.

The Worth Shop is open 9 AM to 2 PM on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
