I love to watch the ripple effects of God's miraculous intervention. Consider the story of Paul and Silas' midnight deliverance recorded in Acts 16. In the deepest reaches of a Roman prison, chained with their feet in stocks, the situation seemed hopeless. God literally shook the earth to set them loose. Not only did Paul and Silas experience freedom that night, but the prison guard cried out, “What must I do to be saved?” The ripple effect then reached the jailer’s family. Verse 34 reads, “…he believed with his entire household.”
The ripple effects of God's intervention can still be seen today. Consider Carley's situation, which also seemed hopeless. Raised in alcoholism, she entered adulthood chained to a life of drugs and darkness, eventually losing her children before she was incarcerated. It was then that God “shook the earth” for Carley and set her free. We’ve been blessed to play a small part in the great work God is doing in her life.
“God works in some mysterious ways, and He definitely works through Watered Gardens. The people here don’t force Jesus on anyone, but they inspire you—the staff, the volunteers, everyone. They help you believe you really can live a different life if you’re walking with God and empowered by Him. They’ve made a world of difference to me—and now I want to be that hope to someone else.”
Thank you for your support. You’re part of the “ripple effect” that interrupted the destruction of a family. Carley is employed, living with two of her children now, and on track to get her third back, as well. She’s also leading her father, her mother, her brother and her friends to a real relationship with God. Only heaven knows the reach of the ripples from this single soul caught on fire for Jesus. Join me in praying for many more!
