T-shirts, bumper stickers, even one musical artist’s song is titled “But God…”. These two words have, for many, become a message of hope that God can not only turn a situation around, but do it quickly. I've experienced many of these “but God” moments—when I was caught in a dire situation that seemed inescapable, but God… suddenly provided a way out, a rescue from my troubles. You probably have, too. This month, I was struck by Dannalee's amazing turnaround—her own "but God" moment.
“Finding Watered Gardens was the best thing that could have happened to me. When I was dropped off, I’d never been homeless before, and only knew what I’d seen on TV. I was scared and thought I wouldn’t be able to sleep at all. But that very first night, I felt such an overwhelming sense of security and safety that I had the best night of sleep in a long time. I didn’t even think there was a God, but now I know that peace was from Him. I found Jesus there at Watered Gardens—got saved and baptized and became an avid Bible reader. I also made some really good friends who I still talk to almost every day.”
An unbeliever, homeless and frightened, was dropped off at the steps of a homeless shelter… but God. Today, Dannalee has a church family, a place of her own, and a relationship with Jesus. God turned it all around for her and you were a part of that. Thank you for your support. I hope you’re blessed to be a part of His amazing work.
