Hope. It's a small word with great importance. Without it, a person will only eke out an existence but never live a flourishing life. More so, a life without hope can result in questioning the purpose of living at all. It's why Hope is a core value at Watered Gardens Ministries. We believe every person should see an end to his poverty, or at least see the possibility of tomorrow being better than today.
To embrace and demonstrate this core value, our team extends hope to people every day. The result is a new optimism that is often the starting point of a change in the direction of a person's life. It certainly was for David.
“I started drinking when I was just 14 and got stuck in a cycle: I’d get a job, then lose it because of drinking. Over and over. This last time, I lost everything else, too, and ended up homeless. I was tired of living that way—tired of being someone I wasn’t proud of, but coming to Watered Gardens has really helped me turn things around. This is a good place. They work with you to figure out what you need and get yourself mentally right. I’ve gotten into my faith a lot more. I pray all the time now. And I’m happy I’ve found a job again. For the first time in a long time, I feel optimistic.”
I love the end of that testimony: "For the first time in a long time, I feel optimistic." I hope you're blessed to be part of a ministry that's delivering new hope and optimism to people who desperately need it.
