Riley McGuire - January 2023

It’s a special blessing when a person comes into one of our programs, gets through it successfully, and then ends up on our mission team. Riley is one of those. He now serves as an overnight resident assistant for the very program from which he graduated, Forge. His success not only impacts the lives of those around him who see an example of what can happen when a person fully buys into what God wants to do, but I met his daytime employer recently, a businesswoman who was thankful for our program and for her great employee. What a beautiful transformation that happens when a person truly kneels before God.

“As an addict and dealer, my life was total chaos; I didn’t want it anymore. I got desperate, dropped to my knees, and said, ‘I can’t do this anymore.’ I wasn’t trying to pray; I was just at the end of myself, but that little opening was all God needed. Everything that happened from that moment on led me to the Forge where I found faith, a whole new understanding of life, and community.”

Romans 12:2 reads, “Be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind so that you may know what is the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God.” Thank you. You are supporting a ministry committed to the transformation of lives like Riley who has come to know the good will of God for his life. May there be many more this new year!
