The thing about a rescue—it always has a plan. Whether it’s a rescue of someone in immediate danger or a team that organizes a search for someone who's lost, there’s always a plan and the one in trouble rarely knows of it. But when that person is saved by another from certain catastrophe or he’s found by a team when perilously lost, there’s both joy and shock. He didn’t see it coming.
Neither did Scott.
He was at his end, struggling with the guilt of his mother’s suicide while he was in prison and the continuing addiction he couldn’t escape. At the very hour he planned to take his life, God sent two separate strangers to him who did not know each other, but both said they felt God had sent them. God had a plan in motion and the rescue was successful.
“I’m a firm believer that God saved my life and delivered me from addiction. But now, He’s completely rebuilding my life through the Forge. I’m so thankful for this program. I have the incredible privilege to pause and start life over. If not for God’s work through Forge, I know I’d be dead. Instead, I’ve got a brand-new life. God is so good.”
God’s working a lot in the unseen background of our lives and for some, like Scott, it may be a rescue that serves as the beginning of a transformative process. Thank you for your support. You may not know it, but your support is part of His plan to rescue someone’s life.
